Rental terms.

Plain and short. By requesting a booking and typing your name, you ("Renter") agree to these terms with Lakewave Sound ("we").

1. The rental

You rent the gear in your package (speakers, stands, wireless microphones, chargers) for the dates shown on your booking. The gear stays with you at the event address unless we agree otherwise. You must be 18 or older.

2. Payment and deposit

Nothing is charged when you request. Once we confirm, payment is due before drop-off or pickup. A refundable deposit is held for each rental and returned within 24 hours after the gear comes back in good shape, minus any charges under section 5.

3. Cancelling and weather

• Cancel 72 hours or more before your start date: full refund.
• Inside 72 hours: you can move your date once for free, or receive a 50% refund.
• Outdoor event rained out: move your date for free.
• If we ever have to cancel, you get a full refund.

4. Taking care of the gear

• Set speakers on their stands on flat, solid ground with the legs fully spread. Keep them out of walkways.
• The speakers handle a light splash. Do not leave them in rain, near pools or the lake, or on wet sand.
• Do not open, repair or modify any gear. No stickers or tape on the speakers.
• Keep drinks off the speakers. Keep the volume at a level that does not crackle or distort.
• Follow local noise rules and venue rules. In Duluth, amplified sound generally must stop by 10 pm unless you have a permit.

5. If something breaks

Normal wear is on us. Before drop-off and at pickup we take quick photos of the gear.

• With Worry-free protection: accidental damage during your rental is fully covered. You pay nothing more.
• Without protection: you pay the repair cost, or the replacement cost if it cannot be repaired: party speaker $150, stand $45, wireless mic $60, charger or cable $15.
• Never covered: loss or theft, gear left out in rain or put in water, and damage on purpose or from misuse. These are charged at replacement cost.

Charges come out of your deposit first. We send photos and a receipt for anything charged. If the deposit does not cover it, the rest is due within 14 days.

6. Returns and late fees

For delivery, please have the gear ready at the pickup time. For self-pickup, return it at the agreed time. Gear that is late by more than 3 hours is charged $25 per extra day. If we cannot reach you and the gear is not returned within 3 days, it is treated as lost.

7. Safety and responsibility

You are responsible for using the gear safely at your event. You agree that Lakewave Sound is not responsible for injury or property damage caused by how the gear is set up or used during your rental, except when caused by our negligence. If the gear fails and we cannot fix or replace it in time, our responsibility is limited to refunding what you paid for that rental.

8. Electronic signature

Typing your name on the booking form is your signature. We record your name, the date and time, and your connection address with your booking.
